NBA Playoffs/NBA Draft Talk

The NBA Playoffs are one week away and the Dallas Mavericks are on cruise control while Phoenix and San Antonio battle for the 2nd seed in the Western Conference. These three teams are the reason that the Eastern Conference Playoffs will determine who will lose in the NBA Finals. I know that there are some of you that need comforting after a disappointing season that has left you on another team’s bandwagon. To cheer you up I have great news for you: The NBA Draft Lottery is May 22nd and the NBA Draft is June 28th. Feel free to begin to dream about and discuss with friends which player your team will draft this June in a year when the draft class is loaded with talent. In fact, to keep you busy for the next 5 weeks, try out ESPN’s NBA Lottery + Mock Draft Simulator. I gave it a spin and my version of the over 2,000 possible scenarios has Greg Oden (if he decides to go pro) going to Memphis and Kevin Durant going to Danny Ainge and the Boston Celtics. What amazes me is that Phoenix will most likely get the Atlanta Hawks lottery pick and could end up adding Joakim Noah or Corey Brewer to their already pristine offense. Stay tuned to the SPORTSPASTOR blog for the most biased Mavericks playoffs coverage available in the blogosphere. Go Mavs!

How about the Nuggets, eh? What’s your take on them? I say they beat the the Spurs/Suns in seven.

The Nuggets are peaking at the right time. They seem to like the month of April with 8 wins since the beginning of the month. Could they possibly be playing the Spurs the last game of the regular season to determine their first round playoff match-up? Look at the schedules…I think it could happen.
